| Which takes the descriptive research stages further by seeking to explain why a particular phenomenon is happening. For example, what factors might account for the high turn over of a particular public sector job role. |
Predictive |
| When we seek to forecast the likelihood changes to phenomenon given set of assumption. For example, would introducing scholarship to a particular degree course reduce the drop out rate? |
